System Requirements
Hard requirements — not optional
Wings of Theve requires an SSD, a hardware ray tracing-capable graphics card, and DirectX 12 with Shader Model 6.6 or higher. If your GPU doesn't support hardware ray tracing, the game will not run regardless of your other specs — this isn't a "recommended" setting you can turn off.
Baseline performance target
Bandai Namco's own estimate for minimum-spec hardware is 1080p with upscaling at roughly 30fps on "Low" graphics settings, with framerate expected to drop further in graphics-intensive scenes (large-scale battles, superweapon encounters). This is a performance-mode baseline, not a locked 30fps guarantee.
What this means if you're upgrading
- Any GPU older than the ray-tracing generation (pre-RTX 20-series / pre-RX 6000-series equivalents) won't be able to launch the game at all.
- A SATA HDD is not sufficient — the SSD requirement is almost certainly tied to the "Cloudly" weather/streaming system needing fast asset loading for its multi-layered cloud rendering.
- Shader Model 6.6 support generally lines up with DirectX 12 Ultimate-capable GPUs — if your card supports DX12U, you likely clear this bar.
Still unconfirmed
Bandai Namco hasn't published full minimum/recommended CPU, RAM, or exact GPU model tables yet — only the hard requirements and the 1080p/30fps low-settings performance target above. We'll add the full spec table the moment Steam publishes it.
