Project Aces Reveals the F/A-18E and Su-57 in New Screenshots

Project Aces kicked off a new wave of aircraft reveals with two dedicated posts, each introducing a single aircraft with in-engine screenshots.

F/A-18E Super Hornet — the protagonist’s starting aircraft

Described by the developers as a carrier-based multirole fighter built for “naval fleet air defense to close air support,” this revised E-model is pitched around medium-speed maneuverability rather than raw top speed, with an emphasis on anti-surface effectiveness. This tracks with earlier framing of Wings of Theve’s protagonist starting out on the aircraft carrier Endurance — expect this to be one of the first aircraft you fly in the campaign.

Su-57 Felon — a stealth rival

The second reveal introduces the Su-57, described as a cutting-edge stealth fighter succeeding current air superiority jets, based on the real-world PAK FA program. Project Aces specifically called out thrust-vectoring nozzles for “unmatched control.” Framed as a “mysterious enemy aircraft,” this is very likely a Republic of Sotoa asset rather than something the player unlocks early.

Why this matters

This is the first time Bandai Namco has confirmed specific aircraft beyond the F-14A pre-order bonus, and the framing — one player-aligned multirole jet, one enemy stealth fighter — gives an early signal of how the roughly 30+ aircraft roster will be split between allied and hostile forces.

We’ll add both aircraft to our aircraft list with full stat estimates as more gameplay details emerge.
